Then within a couple of hours it is downloaded and available in Media Portal. That way I can watch the content when I want, in a compressed but good quality format. Media Portal has had an excellent TV engine that lets you have multiple TV cards for multiple recording. I used to use it, until I found torrents much easier to use. I had MCE , but it was awful. It had very little customization and nowhere near the number of plugins that MP has.
MP definitely has a few bugs but is open source. But this goes to show that this technology has been around for years, is nothing special, and just because Sony are marketing it first means that it looks like they came up with the idea.
