Why are khajiit not allowed in cities

In Skyrim , unarmed combat as a Khajiit deals 12 damage, making it a completely legitimate build to complete the game with. Thanks to their claws, Khajiit are able to do so much more than other races. Nords are not exactly known for being the most welcoming people in Tamriel, but Khajiit definitely get the short end of the stick when it comes to life in the northern province. They often faced discrimination from city guards, who address them as "cats.

Moreover, the Khajiit are not allowed within the cities of Skyrim. Many of them tend to set up camp outside in the form of caravans since their presence isn't otherwise welcomed.

The peak of the injustice the Khajiit have gone through definitely took place within Morrowind, a province famous for enslaving not only Argonians but Khajiit as well. The rich homes of dark elves were particularly guilty of this, until slavery was outlawed. The treatment of Khajiit slaves was extremely inhumane. Their keepers would hold them with special bracers that would prevent the slaves from using spells in order to fight or attempt an escape.

There are many different types of Khajiit out there, and no two Khajiit are quite alike. While some might look more like lynxes or other large feline creatures, other have a much more domestic catlike appearance. Travelers like yourself are fine, they come and go and if you have some reason to get inside then they will let you in. They will keep an eye out for your activities to be sure.

You can easily play the game without entering cities, or you can do some small quests in the hold prior to entering the main city. Guards will hear about your exploits and allow you in. You can become a Thane of Falkreath, Dawnstar, Winterhold or Morthal and it will give you some weight as well.

Not that I mind not entering Windhelm I think I've been in that city the least amount of times in all my Skyrim experience Darkwater Crossing has some note to deliver to the alchemist there, it can serve as a good reason. I always view it as 1 is allowed, but a caravan isn't Login Sign Up Menu.

No Khajiit merchants though. Originally posted by Demon Wolf :. Originally posted by Docsprock :. I thought that it was just the traveling merchants that were shunned away from the cities for being untrustworthy. A better question is why they let Argonian players in Windhelm. Oh and the reason that NPC gave was that people are concerned because some Khajiit merchants sell Skooma. So the officials in Skyrim go overboard and simply ban all Khajiit merchants from the cities. A few bad apples spoiling it for the rest as that NPC said. Originally posted by KaneBunce :. Bluebaron Member. I have only 1 character I use in skyrim on my xbox its my Khajiit named sabretooth , My khajiit has gold septim fever cant seem to stop he has almost 11 million septims at the present time he is welcome in every city and is invested in many of the shops across skyrim.

My khajiit constantly sells the items he picks up during his travels whether it be from vanquished foes or from stealthy thefts no item is to big or small to sell as long as its worth a septim. I most enjoy doing business with the khajiit caravans. Catwoman Notorious Cat Burglar. This is exactly why I don't play as a Khajiit Being allowed into cities annoys me and takes the realism out of it personally.

Agree x 3. HappyFaceClown PunkNation. Never played a cat person, might have to give it a try sometime. Far as i know there are no restrictions on where u can go regardless of what race your using, would be funny if there was tho, i'd love to have to fight my way into a city everytime i wanna enter because of my race, that would actually be really interesting!

I know but i roleplay. I have a Khajiit merchant who is currently only allowed in two walled cities. Whiterun because he bribed the guard and the Jarl was grateful that Fa'kir warned hm about the dragons. Riften because again he bribed a guard and it's also the only ciy were npc Khajiits appear. The assassin is there and sometimes Khajiit characters attend your wedding, so I figure it's more lax there, but he stays away from the palace. Also he sometimes sneaks into the cities to "acquire" things.

Eventually he will obtain the Masque of Clavicus Vile, which he will always wear in cities. When wearing it, he will be allowed full access to all cities. He'll wear it until he becomes Thane of every hold and destroys Alduin.
