Why do people hate icarly

Then I heard it was being rebooted by this time it be more aimed for mature audience and play as more of sitcom then like a gag show like it was on nick. So far, so good in my opinion. This Icarly has some profanity, adult themes, etc.

The acting has definitely gotten way better then its predecessor and the show has quite a bit of funny jokes. Its definitely good enough to watch to kill some time. However there are couple negatives I did have with it. The exclusion of Sam while booed by die hard fans, I always disliked her character so I was happy to see some replacements. The addition of Millicent however makes me miss Sam completely.

Her character is incredibly annoying, feels forced, and adds almost zero to the story. As well as some the other reoccuring characters that were brought back from the previous show like Nora,Neville, and Freddy's mom. I wish would of just stayed in the past.

Harper on the positive side was very enjoyable and a great addition to the story. My only other negative and this mainly applied to first episode because as season went on it toned down a bit had to do with easyly identifiable political progressive leaning views, opinions, dialouge, etc. Listen I'm a moderate so I share views with both sides of the fence therefore when I'm watching something I'd prefer it either stay neutral or just not have any at all. Because here it was almost like they were strictly trying to play to certain base.

With all that said, overall I'd recommend the show and hope it gets continued as its very enjoyable. This show matured well. It is funny and feels natural which is often not the case in reboots. It is comforting for old fans of the show who are not adults. I would definitely recommend.

Eggoreluckadman 17 June Jerry trainor is as funny as before, Miranda cosgrove and Nathan kress return to their roles with ease. The new additions to the cast will take some time to resonate but so far they seem to fit right in with the rest of the cast. Some jokes land, but some don't, the laugh track is definetely more annoying than the previous iteration. First episode was funny and I can't wait to watch the others.

If you were a diehard icarly fan growing up like I was, you won't be disappointed by the show so far. Great references, funny humour and they don't try to hard to steer away from the original kid friendly content. A good transition into a more adult icarly for sure.

Huge fan of the diversity in the cast as well. Stoked for the upcoming season! ToxicJug 15 July Back when I was growing up, Icarly was one of my favorite shows to watch with my family. Whenever a new episode was airing we would all gather in the living room, turn on Nickelodeon, and watch it while eating our own Spaghetti Tacos which of course is a staple to the show and the Fandom! We did this until the show eventually came to an end, watching Icarly each and every week were some of the most fondest memories spent with my family so to say that I was looking forward to this revival of the series would be a huge understatement!

I couldn't help but think about how amazing this could be. Icarly would've been introducing a whole younger generation to an incredible series from our childhoods while also reintroducing us to Carly, Freddy, Spencer, and all of our favorite and loveable Icarly characters. I thought that my family might even get back to watching a new episode every week together for old times sake! With that being said, I could not have been more let down by this series..

The characters including the ones that we grew up loving are dull and hardly entertaining to watch, the social commentary is way overbearing, and Harper is simply no substitute for Sam! Sadly, the Revival is nowhere near the original in terms of heart, fun and overall entertainment.

Awful lineart 19 June Totally obnoxious and forgetable. At least I hope it is forgetable. Bad acting. The laugh track helps you know when to laugh because it is not even humorous.

The series returns only adapted for the current internet world. Carly is similar to a youtuber, Jerry Trainor is great seems to be giving his best. The return of iconic characters is one of the great reasons to watch this series. Screenplay Is ok but needs improvement it's not a total failure.

Why is it still called ICarly? There is no web show! Writing is lame and for the most part the acting is stale. Just not very good. This show is pretty good and i never heard Spencer swear saying "What the hell" and just noticed this show is rated TV and the old iCarly is rated TV-G and that's why they never cuss in that one.

And too be honest i like the old iCarly show a little bit better with Sam Pucket and it's more funnier then the new iCarly and Spencer is still funny as before the old one. OMG, talk about a garbage. I don't know what the creators were thinking with this one. There is SO much wrong with it. First, it has none of the charm of the original, and they put next to no effort into trying to recapture it.

Instead, they're very obvious riding on the original series' coattails while relying almost solely on nostalgia. But one of the hardest things to figure out is just who this show is for. It plays out like it's for kids and teens like the original series does, but they have a bunch of adult stuff in it that's not suitable for such age groups.

These things include, swearing, talking about controversial and political things, agenda pushing, and openly discussing sexual things, like sleeping around and stuff at one point they straight up hire a prostitute, and it's not subtle. Seriously, who is this for?

It's not age appropriate for kids and young teens, but is too immature and childish for adults or even older teens either. And unlike the original, it's not really amusing. Sure, you'll get a unexpected chuckle here and there, but it's really nothing impressive. And then there's the horrible writing and themes. This show has become so unbelievably, painfully, and horribly Woke that it's ridiculous.

But I have a few. She's a nice girl for the most part, not perfect as it's shown in some episodes like iDate A Bad Boy as she makes fun of her boyfriend for liking Pee Wee Babies.

She has asthma and is a claustrophobic. Sometimes she takes her guardian and older brother Spencer for granted but often we see them being good siblings to each other. And Carly definitely learns to appreciate him in the Christmas episode.

She's close with the people around her. She's close friends with Sam, and unlike many girls who wouldn't handle a guy crushing on her like crazy, she handled Freddie really well.

She didn't make him stay out of her life, in fact it was the opposite. Come to think of it, I'm surprised that when we see Freddie's room in a later episode it doesn't have a poster or a cardboard cut out of Carly anywhere. More on Freddie in a bit. Carly is friends with Gibby and I found she really cares about him as shown in a few episodes, despite there being several things wrong with Gibby. But despite that Gibby is awesome.

And more on HIM in a bit. And several times you can see she really loves her father, the Colonel. You really see it in the series finale. Now for Freddie, I like how he doesn't come across as a typical nerd with the weird teeth or glasses or weird clothing. He looks like a kid but with a lot of brains when it comes to tech stuff. And I really hate that there are people that don't see this about him that I do: despite the many times Sam has hit him, picked on him, belittled him, he's dealt with it all and throughout the show he doesn't let Sam get to him.

The same goes for Gibby. People go off about how nowadays kids would get so depressed from all that bullying, they could even go kill that someone or other people with them. But they don't consider or appreciate the fact that Gibby and Freddie didn't give into those things, that they learned to not let anything hurt them atleast not emotionally. This is something I love about Freddie and Gibby. They both turn out so strong. And I think this is why near the end of the show they start hanging out more.

Gibby and Freddie are both so confident and strong now by the end of the show. Whether she's popular or not? Despite whatever the nerds in his shows go through, they get some respect by him as he's writing them.

Although that side of Sam where she is rough, sarcastic and even wild exists, good qualities of her do start coming out. She eventually understands when she needs to stop if she takes things too far with Freddie especially. She starts having a better relationship with her mom by the fourth season, when she and Freddie break up, this is the start of her character developing even more.

In the episode where she goes to Canada for Fatcakes, at the beginning of the episode, it's revealed that she started to behave better which results in her surprise trip. She starts staying out of trouble and it IS thanks to the web show itself, but more on that later , and a couple of times we see her standing up for her friends and two other kids that get bullied. Before she was simply so careless and would often be in juvie. But now she's staying out of trouble a bit more and I think with her baby sitting service in the spin off, she's going to really learn to stay out of trouble.

As for Spencer, I love him as an older brother. He's cool, he's fun, the actor is very funny. He's a lovable older brother that I wish I had. By the way, even though iCarly is seen as another show where someone is famous or wants to be famous, it doesn't mean the characters in this show necessarily do.

Their web show is a success, but they still live lives much more normally than the characters in other shows. They can walk around without someone going crazy over them except in iStart A Fanwar or starting at them. And speaking of iStart A Fanwar, I love how with episodes like this, like the series finale, Dan speaks through the characters to us. Especially the shipping couples thing which is the reason many people even watch a show these days. I read fun facts Dan has written for his episodes and sometimes he'll put something in to an episode because it's something he's seen or it's based on someone he works with.

Like the huge phone Freddie has in iGoodbye is made fun of by Gibby because Dan himself knows someone with a huge phone that he and other people he works with laugh about it. Now earlier I was talking about the web show being the reason why Sam stays out of prison more. It's not just her the iCarly web show has an impact on. It's everyone. Without iCarly, the main characters wouldn't be so close as they are now, minus Carly and Sam and maybe Freddie.

The web show was the reason Sam and Freddie had to spend so much time together and they would slowly learn to be friends with each other and Freddie would learn to not let Sam get to him. The closer they got because of the web show being apart of their lives, resulted in them deciding to date. Although it was short, the breakup scene I find is the reason Sam started making better choices when Freddie suggested that she tries to be a little normal while Sam suggests the opposite for him.

Without the web show they never would've been so close. If all three didn't help Gibby win a date at all with the help of the iCarly web show, he would've always been too shy to go out with a girl. He later learns to just be himself thanks to their help and he becomes confident. Without the web show they probably wouldn't have been able to help him even date in the first place. And the popularity of the web show resulted in Nora Dershlitt, a super crazy iCarly fan who kidnaps Carly, Sam and Freddie, who Gibby fights to save his friends, this earning fans' respect as well as the main characters and he became more awesome ever since.

It never would've happened if it wasn't for, you guessed it, the web show existing. A small thing I love is in iRescue Carly, they all are so close by now that they simply hung out and watched a movie together. The web show existing is the reason friendships and relationships formed, and mended. I love noticing how with iCarly, as the seasons progress, the show itself grows up along with the characters. Especially by the last season we see that iCarly isn't just a "kids show". For me, though, I realized that by season 2.

There are jokes and references adults can understand and I love that Dan has always tried to make his shows appealing for adults too. The only things I dislike is the use of the laugh track, the lack of background music and the pacing of lines. The writing is not good. The jokes are not good. They do a lot of info dumping… like, a lot. Millicent is really annoying and poorly written. Millicnit has made this ravens home.

Cringe acting. God I miss the kids like Chuck. He was a beast. Because of political correctness and the fear of getting cancelled by left-wing mob, the show is more carefully crafted than ever and it has losing much of the OG show personality. My cons and why I could see it being hated 1. Cheese ball acting 2. No Sam 3. Forced cultural diversity. I get one black woman, but 2?!?!?

No real plot. I think this season needed a story to set the table for future seasons. Nowhere to be seen. Freddy went from a quiet beast at the end of icarly and definitely in Sam and cat. Too much paying homage to the past with no real structure.

Everyone included just feels like throw ins with no weight. I have continued watching the old show in the absence of my subscription. The dynamic of seddie and creddie in the show was a must watch story unfolding in and of itself without what was happening.

I do agree with most of your points,But the forced diversity one was utter bullshit Other than that,You are totally right Dan Schneider was pervert, rapist etc But his shows were always a hit So how would you characterize a mixed black girl and a full on black girl getting the parts?

Because their acting certainly is god awful. I somehow agree with you Laci Mosley Harper acting is awful She is trying but she can't reach the level of Jennette McCurdy Sam Millicent is pretty good Skin tone does not matter but acting does matter That's the point.

Explain why they deserved it. Neither can act which shows me they conceded and took two black actors over other better actors because they needed to diversify the cultures on the show. Millicent's actor is good for a child actor and Harper's puts a lot of personality in her character, i rest my case. No millicint is Disney channel actress.

No authenticity or sincerity when acting. Harper is the crazy girl next door but over does it. She tries too hard to deliver the lines a certain way that it too becomes inauthentic. Bring in them and Jake paul and you got a hit. And if you think the writing actually is good, wow. That is literally analyzing the writing. Which inherently means you have to analyze the writing.
